Michael Anthony Martinez

Martinez. Michael was a kind soul. Michael had an immense passion, love, and admiration

for video games, anime, good times, good food, his family, and his friends – whom he often saw

as family, and above all his Mother Angie and Grandmother Elizabeth. It takes a village but

he was primarily raised by those two strong, hard-working, and loving women, which

greatly contributed to Michael’s caring, strong-willed, and generous spirit. He cared deeply

for his loved ones and genuinely wanted the best for all those around him.

He had many, many friends thanks to his outgoing and “life of the party” nature, many of

those friendships spanning over a decade. Michael loved having deep conversations

discussing philosophy, politics, ones hopes and dreams, the future, and life itself. It even

earned him the nickname “Buddha" which he answered to proudly for most of his life. He

also loved to joke around with his friends and family, and he was truly appreciative of all the

good times he got to experience. He had a smile and a laugh that would fill up a room and

always gave the best hugs you’ve ever gotten.

Michael was never afraid to be himself or say what he was thinking as he knew we weren’t

promised tomorrow. We grieve the son, grandson, cousin, nephew, and best friend that

Michael was to so many of us. His family take solace in knowing he’s been greeted by his

beloved family who have gone before him and our hope is that we will all allow Michael to

live on by adopting a piece of Michael’s big-hearted, fun-loving, care free, and giving spirit.

He will be sorely missed and the memory of him cherished always. With the heaviest of

hearts we know that Michael is gone but he is never forgotten.
