Age 69, passed away on April 10, 2013 in Plano, TX. Born December 25, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Eleazar and Dolores (Deuby) LaRose. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pat LaRose; daughters, Michelle Tagliamonte and husband Andre of Lakewood, IL, Kristen McCune of Toledo, OH, Terri Kress and husband Theodore of Bridgeport, WV, and Amy Krakowski and husband James of Allen, TX; grandchildren, Gaby and Nina Tagliamonte, Lauren and Kate McCune, MacKenzie and Miranda Kress, and Allison and Jackson Krakowski; sisters, Sue McElhenny and husband Jim of Phoenix, AZ and Sharon Kowalski and husband Eugene of Plano, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Born in Detroit and raised in Philadelphia and Detroit, Mike graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High School in 1961 and then attended the University of Detroit where he was an active member of Magi Fraternity. He began his career with Johnson Wax in Detroit where he worked in Commercial Product Sales. He relocated to Cincinnati in 1974 where he met his future wife, Pat. Mike’s 32 year career with Johnson Wax took him to Toledo, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, and Plano where he and his wife have lived since 1982. After his retirement in 1997, Mike pursued a career in real estate with Coldwell Banker. Mike served faithfully at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church for many years. He was Parish Council President, Eucharistic Minister, 8:15 am Mass Captain, and was a member of The Knights of Columbus Council 7850. Mike enjoyed many things including golf, playing the drums, cooking, and most importantly, the moments spent with his family and friends. He especially loved his role as "Grandpa" and was very involved in the lives of his grandchildren. Mike was thought to have never met a stranger, and his outgoing personality allowed him to touch many lives. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A Vigil Service will be held on Monday, April 15th at 7 pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 16th at 11 am, also at the church, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for Seton’s Ark Preschool or the Henry V. Petter Endowment for Social Justice.
