Michael Craig Jones

Michael Craig Jones (a.k.a. “Craig”) passed away in William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital at UT Southwestern on October 14, 2017 in Dallas, TX due to complications following cancer treatment. He was 46 years old.

Mr. Jones was born on May 15, 1971 in Starkville, Mississippi, to his parents, Sarah Bagwell Seaman and Charles Michael Jones. He joined the Navy at 17 years old. He served on the USS Enterprise and USS Abraham Lincoln as a helicopter electrician. He was a Desert Storm Veteran. He graduated from University of North Texas with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering in 2010. He married Teresa Jones (née Kinsella) in 2015. The Joneses made their home in Little Elm, TX where Mr. Jones worked as a Quality Engineer at Victor Technologies/ESAB in Denton Texas.

Mr. Jones enjoyed hunting, competitive shooting and 3-gun competitions. He loved chocolate meringue pie, strawberry cake, Sonic slushes, red dirt country music, Marvel movies and driving his truck.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Teresa Anna Jones; his grandmother, Maxine Jones; his mother and step father, Sarah (Bagwell) and Jack Seaman; his sister and brother in law, Alisha and Ernest Creeps; his brother and sister in law, Charles Loyd and Corey Jones; nieces, Kaitlin (Creeps) Jones; Peyton Jones; Lily and Ella Kinsella; his nephews, Charles Creeps and Camden Jones. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Michael Jones and Grandfathers Charles Thurman Jones and Loyd Murphy Bagwell.

A viewing will take place on Thursday October 19, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Jones’ life. A funeral service will be held Friday October 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral home, followed by reception. Mr. Jones will be buried in a brief ceremony on October 23, 2017 at 2:15 at the Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery.
