Michael Thomas Benoit, love of our lives, passed away on April 15th, 2014, at his home in Plano, Texas. He was 60 years young. Michael was born in Logansport, Indiana, to the late Joseph conrad Benoit and Evelyn Butler Benoit. Mike graduated from Piqua Central High school and received his BA from Ohio Wesleyan University. Mike started in the hospitality industry and moved into water conservation. For fifteen years, he has worked in the multi-family housing industry. Ten years ago, he built his own very successful company as a utilities broker and is well-recognized as one of the leaders in Texas in that industry. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathi Fox Benoit, and his two children, Michael Joseph Benoit and Katharine Ramsey Benoit. Anyone who met him soon learned that his wife and kids were the world to him. He is also survived by his brothers Philip Joseph Benoit of New York City, and Donald Charles Benoit and his wife Sherry of Toledo, OH, and sister Diana Lee Smith of Owings Mills, MD, along with many nieces and nephews. Mike was a disciplined and hard worker, generous to a fault, funny, handsome, smart, and had a huge heart. He was a great husband, father, provider, and he loved God, family, and friends. He will be missed by everyone he touched.
In lieu of flowers, Mike and his family are requesting donations be made in his honor to the North Texas Food Bank at www.ntfb.org.
