Mary Ann Shankles was born October 5, 1937, in Beaumont, Texas to parents Henry and Lesta Callaway. She passed away in Garland, Texas on May 5, 2017, after complications of a stroke in 2015 and suffering from dementia.
Mary worked as a Real Estate Broker for many years. She attended The Church in the City in Rowlett, Texas, where she served as a Christian minister. Mary loved serving the Lord and spending quality time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F.G. Shankles; son, Robert David Ayers; parents, Henry and Lesta Callaway; and siblings, Kenneth and Charles Callaway. She is survived by her children Tony Ayers, Rene Armstrong, Jeff Ayers and Lea Ayers; grandchildren, Brittany Bradford, Megan Windham, Billy Jack Shankles Jr., Shaun Ayers, Aubry Ayers, Amber Curtis, Joshua Ayers, Cory Garrison, Greg Garrison, and Bryon Garrison.
