Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Ann Roden, 71, went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2018 at her home in Dallas, Texas. She was born December 19, 1946 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Otho Christian and Flora Mae Parker. Mary’s career kept her busy 24/7, being the best fulltime mother and wife she could be. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren, being at as many sporting events and family events that she could. Mary loved to dance, fish, play bingo, the lottery and playing games but most of all she loved Christmas time. Even though it was her favorite holiday, she would always wait two weeks before to start her shopping. Every New Years, she waited up for her children to call her at midnight and would be mad if they did not call to help her bring in the New Year. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Chance Wayne Roden; brother, JR Parker and sister, Myra Perkins. Mary is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raymond William Roden, Jr.; four children, Raymond William Roden III of Dallas, Raeandra Roden of Dallas, Christi Roden Arnold and husband Lance of Scurry and Kelley Roden Hernandez and husband, Ricky of Dallas; nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sister, Ima Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Victory Baptist Church, 900 N. Hwy 175 Seagoville, Texas, from 12-1pm with services starting at 1pm. Interment will follow services at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
