Mary Jean (Miller) Pluff was born on June 10, 1946 in Kilgore, TX to Wanda and E.H. Miller. Wanda and E.H. Miller raised their family in Snyder, TX. Mary had four siblings, Martha (her twin sister), Patricia, Linda, and John. After high school, Mary moved to Dallas where she met and married David Pluff in 1968 - they had three children - John, Karen, and Amy. Mary and David raised their family in Odessa, TX where David worked in the oilfield. Mary was highly active in Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where she served on the Ladies Altar and Rosary Society and participated in the Catholic Youth Organization. After raising her kids, Mary entered the workforce and purchased the Odessa Plan Room in 2001 and operated the business for nearly 7 years. In 2007, Mary moved to Olmito, TX to enjoy her retirement near the ocean. Mary passed away on July 31, 2021 at her home after a long six month decline in health due to COPD and lung cancer. Mary was preceded in death by her twin sister, Martha, in 2020; and husband, David, in 2006.
Mary's beautiful life will be forever cherished by her 3 children (John Pluff of Double Oak, Karen Dudley of New Braunfels, and Amy Parker of Granbury), her 7 beloved grandchildren (Helen Dudley, Gertie Dudley, Joaquin Dudley, Jace Parker, Allison Parker, Annabel Pluff, and Juliet Pluff), her siblings (Linda and Chuck McCurry of Jayton, Sister Patricia Ann Miller of OKC, and John Miller of Kermit), her nieces (Kamie McCurry, Amanda McCurry, Kylinda McCurry, and Jina Sterling). Mary also leaves behind a long-term friend and companion - Theodore Pynn.
Mary was a thoughtful, kind, and wonderful human being. She was filled with God's grace, Christ's Holy Spirit and never knew a stranger. Her caring spirit and warm smile invited numerous meaningful friendships throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by many.
