Mary Morris

Mary confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Friendship Methodist Church of Lindale, Texas. Later she joined Believers Tabernacle of Dallas, Texas, where she served as the Church Secretary for many years.

Mary attended Lindale Colored High School, later named Bragg Morris High School after her husband’s grandfather, Bragg Morris. After graduation, she united in marriage to Henry Lee Morris, Sr., on February 25, 1948.

On Sunday, April 29, 2018, Mary was called from her labor to her reward in Glory. Mary was welcomed with open arms by her parents, her husband, two sisters, three brothers, and six children.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Gertie Chatman (Keith) and Patricia Thomas of Dallas, Texas; stepdaughter, Beulah Griffin (Bernie) of Lindale, Texas; one sister, Florene McGee, of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Jewell Dorsey of Dallas, Texas, and Lawrence Dorsey (Shirley) of Lindale, Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her special friend, Archibald “Pops” Henderson.
