MaryEllen Massey Moore, 89, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Friday, December 16, 2022, at home. Mrs. Moore, daughter of Mel J. & Anna E. Massey (Kondusky), was born on December 31, 1932 and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where she graduated from St. Stephen High School. MaryEllen was active her entire lifetime, participating in several competitive sports beginning in her youth. She met the love of her life, Vernon, playing golf, and enjoyed the game for many years. In her last decade, she was a member of a competitive rowing team, the Row Tribe, of Westlake, Texas. To this day, she continues to hold the world & national indoor rowing record for the 2,000-meter row in the 85-89 age group.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27 at St. Sophia Ukrainian Catholic Church, 5600 N. Colony Blvd, The Colony, TX 75056. Funeral rite officiated by Rev. Fr. Pavlo Popov. Burial: Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: Friends may call Monday, December 26 at St. Sophia Ukrainian Catholic Church, 5600 N. Colony Blvd, where the family will be present from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Sophia Ukrainian Catholic Church. Survivors: Brother, Ralph J. Massey; her children, Anne Tauber (Richard), MaryClare Milner (Bob), Patrick J. Moore, Murray E. Moore (Patty), Rita Waggoner (Kyle), Thomas W. Moore (Claudia), Daniel J. Moore (John), and Adele Snyder (Eric); 24 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
