Mary Parker Lowe passed away peacefully and painlessly at home on January 18th, 2021 with her husband, Jack, by her side. Mary was born on May 7th, 1941 to the Honorable Judge William and Mary Parker. She grew up in Greenville, Texas with her younger brother, Billy, and graduated from Greenville High School in 1959, where she was an outstanding student and made life-long friendships. She attended TCU for one year and spent most of her professional career as a court reporter for Dallas County. Mary and Jack Lowe were married on January 31st, 1987 and they had six children: Chuck Chapman, Chris Parker, Coley, Julie, John and James Lowe. Over the years, their family grew to include sons- and daughters-in-law, nine grandchildren, and of course, Mary’s precious rescue pets. Mary and Jack travelled much of the world together, and especially loved their annual trips to Santa Fe with dear friends, the Harwells and Clems.
They celebrated all the big moments of life with their family and friends, but they also cherished quiet times together; working a crossword, watching a Cowboys game, or just holding hands, drinking wine, and watching the sunset. Despite her progressive dementia, Mary recognized everyone in her family and her closest friends until the very end. Trish Tushim provided the most loving and competent care and became an invaluable member of our family over the past two years. Most importantly, Mary always knew she was deeply and unconditionally loved by Jack. She would often say to him, “You are the love of my life,” and he would say the same to her. Their love gave her incredible peace and comfort and allowed her to part from this world knowing she lived her best life with the best partner by her side.
Mary is survived by her husband, Jack Lowe; her brother, Billy Parker; her children, Chuck Chapman, Coley (Steve) Canter, Julie (Matt) Strong, John Lowe, James (Megan) Lowe; her daughter-in law, Danelle Parker; her grandchildren, Will Parker, Allie, Audrey, and Avery Canter, Jack and Sam Strong, Eli, Charlotte, and Stana Lowe; her sister-in-law, Ann Lowe Williams and brother-in-law Bob (Connie) Lowe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Parker and her son, Chris Parker. We plan to have a celebration of Mary’s life when it is safe to do so. Mary loved animals, so contributions in her memory can be made to any organization that supports animal welfare.
