Mary could accomplish anything she set her mind to. At a very early age while other kids would be playing outside in the West Dallas Projects, Mary would have her head in a book reading.
Mary Catherine Loving (Mary K) was born on March 21, 1952 to Geraldine Blake- Stevenson and Elijah Loving Jr. in Dallas Texas. She was the oldest of eight Children. Mary started her Education at L.G Pinkston High School where she graduated top of her class. Mary continued her Education at UTD and received her Bachelors in Education, she didn’t stop there she received her Master’s Degree and her Doctrine in Philosophy in the Humanities Major in Studies in Literature. Mary has published four books (3 Poems), (1 Short story). She also wrote a poem for Freedman’s Memorial Cemetery. Mary taught College English at New Jersey City University and at Paul Quinn College. She married Jesse Hampton and to this Union three Kids were born. April M. Loving, Chautauqua Hampton and Jacqueline Hampton. She raised her girls to never be afraid of what Life brings and to never let a day go by without learning something. Mary thought and knew that education would open doors. She always kept a book in her girl’s hands. Mary Loving was also blessed to raise her granddaughter Constance Hampton and Kiara Loving as her very own children.
