Mary Kay Kerr McCarty, of Dallas, Texas, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, November 3, 2017. She was born March 15, 1945 in Victoria, Texas, married May 31, 1968 to Justin S. McCarty, Jr., her beloved sweetheart of 50 years. They had 3 daughters, Mary Kay McCarty Westwood (and husband Arthur G. Westwood), Elizabeth McCarty McMillan (and husband Carter J. McMillan), and Anne McCarty Cannon (and husband Brian D. Cannon): and nine cherished grandchildren, Laura Anne Westwood, Charles Edward Westwood, Justin McCarty Westwood, Mary Elizabeth Westwood, Allison Anne Cannon, Sarah Catherine McMillan, Hunter McCarty Cannon, Caroline Jordan McMillan, and Bella Grace Cannon. She adored her sisters Robbie Kerr Beck (and husband Dr. Robert B. Beck); Alexis Leiser (and husband Michael L. Leiser); and Melissa Kerr Pauksta (and husband George L. Pauksta).
Mary Kay (Kay Kay), delighted in love of the Lord and devotion to her family. Beautiful, quietly elegant and kind, she lived her life as an example to others, bravely facing any physical challenges that came her way through the years. She touched so many lives, left a great and loving legacy and will be missed dearly.
Mary Kay attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a Chi Omega. Her memberships included the Dallas Women's Club, the Dallas Garden Club, the Hesitation Club, Junior League of Dallas, DAR, Christ the King Altar Society, Mary K Craig Class, Issues and Interests and the Christ Child Society. A celebration of her life will be a Memorial Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 10:00am.
