Mary & Jerry Geary

Gerald “Jerry” Geary, Sr. - October 28, 1929 – December 15, 2020

Jerry Geary passed on December 15, 2020, at the age of 91, preceded only months before by his wife of 68 years, Mary, who died on May 3, 2020, at 88. Like their years of marriage exemplified, they will celebrate their spiritual passage together.

Jerry grew up in San Francisco and graduated from the University of San Francisco while clerking for the FBI. During the Korean War, he served in the Army and joined the FBI in 1955, serving as Assistant Agent in Charge of the Dallas office from 1964-80. In addition to public service, Jerry enjoyed tennis and was active in several Catholic community organizations.

Mary met Jerry in high school in San Francisco, where they were married in 1952. She raised four children and helped raise six grandchildren. Mary taught all how to manage their way around a kitchen. She had immense spirit and energy and brought joy and humor to everyone around her.

Jerry and Mary leave us with their four children: their youngest son, Bill; their daughter, Lorrie Holmes and her son Corey; Jerry Jr. and his sons Jeffrey and Michael; Cathy Otiker with her husband John, and their children Hannah, Aaron, and Jonathan.

On Tuesday, January 5 at 10 am, the family will hold a rosary for the couple at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Lake Highlands, followed immediately by the celebration of Mass at 10:30 am.
