Mary Ann Higginbotham

Services for Mary Ann Ryder Higginbotham will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Dallas on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at noon, with visitation prior to services beginning at 11:00 am. Mrs. Higginbotham was born August 23, 1928 in Durham, NC to Bonnie Belle Sewell Ryder and Douglas Eugene Ryder Sr. She passed away on May 17, 2014 in Marshall, TX at the age of 85 years old. Mary always enjoyed being around her wonderful grandchildren. She also had a great passion, and green thumb for gardening, and she loved animals. She leaves behind 2 loving daughters, Sara Wisdom and her husband James of Marshall, TX, and Bonnie Hall of Charleston, WV. She also leaves behind one son Jimmy Higginbotham in Summerfield, FL. She is also survived by her 4 loving grandchildren that she adored; Maryanna Hall of Charleston WV, James Wisdom Jr. and wife Angela of Carthage, TX, Douglas Higginbotham of Belleview, FL, and James Edward Higginbotham of Miami, FL. She was also blessed with many great, and great- great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, one granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Wisdom of Red Oak, TX and her loving brother CSM Ret. Doug Ryder Jr. of Ocala, FL. Please make any memorial contributions in her honor to The Alzheimer’s Assoc., TX Home Health and Hospice, or your local SPCA. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the entire staff and friends of Oakwood House Assisted Living in Marshall, TX for all of the wonderful love and care they provided.
