After graduating high school, Frances attended Mississippi State College for Women where she earned a Fine Arts degree. After college she moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where she worked as an interior designer. While living in Birmingham, she met and married E. Grant Fitts. They moved to Dallas, TX, shortly thereafter. She later earned a Masters Degree in Environmental Design and continued her work as an interior designer.
Frances enjoyed traveling the world, volunteering at the Dallas Museum of Art and playing tennis. She was also passionate about art history, Native American History, Genealogy and was an accomplished painter.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clara Rose Jones and Harry V. Jones as well as her sister Bettye Rose Jones. Frances is survived by her son, Stuart Fitts (Jerri Ann), her grandsons Grant Fitts and Thomas Fitts, her sister Kathryn Scarbrough (Terry) and numerous cousins.
The family would like to thank the caregivers from Home Health Companions for their kindness and care, as well as Luz Maria Olveram who was an amazing caregiver and companion whom Frances loved dearly.
Following a private burial, there will be a Celebration of Life Reception on Tuesday, July 12, 3:00-5:00 pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225.
