Mary Janet Dunn

Our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend passed peacefully in the early morning hours at the Edgemere Retirement Community in Dallas, Texas.

Born to Hilma and Tom Costello Sr. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Janet was a University of Nebraska graduate who worked for her father at “The Costello Company” before joining the war effort as a radio communications teacher for pilots in training at Joe Foss Field in Sioux Falls.

Her work took her to Sao Paulo, Brazil where she met and married Martin G. “Pete” Dunn of Gadsen, Alabama, who worked for the Goodyear Tire Company. They were long time residents of Mexico City, before retiring in Sun City, AZ. After her husband’s passing she moved to Dallas in 2000 to be closer to her daughter Julie Dunn & niece, Jan Hopkins of Garland, TX.

She is survived by her daughter Julie, & son-in-law Ronald G. Balentine of Dallas, her sister Marjorie Schoon of Sioux Falls, and the remaining Costello, Burke and Mickelson families. Janet will be sorely missed.
