Mary Elizabeth Appleby, age 90, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on December 4, 2016. She was born Mary Elizabeth O’Brien on January 27, 1926, in El Paso, TX, to James and Louise O’Brien. She became a kindergarten teacher for a Dallas Christian School until she retired in her early 70’s. She was also active in the Boy Scouts and the Methodist Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louise O’Brien; husband, Fred Appleby; and sons, David and Richard Dutton. She is survived by her son, Robert Dutton and wife Diane; grandchildren, Alanna, Talitha, and Bobby; great-grandchildren, Jared, Alek, Christopher, Jordan, and Logan; as well as many extended family members.
Visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:00am, and will be followed by Funeral Services at 11:00am, all at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
