Mary Alice Askew “Grandma” Bergman went to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 21, 2023. She died like she lived, peacefully, surrounded by family. She was 88. Mary Alice was the absolute best Wife, Mom, Grandma and friend to everyone in her life. So full of life, she was always on the go playing Bridge with her friends, volunteering with her church, on the lake with her family or spending time at the ranch. She will be deeply missed. It was hard seeing her trying to recover from her surgery as she was only sick maybe a handful of times in her entire life. We all love her so much and she will be deeply missed. We are glad she is at peace and in the arms of her maker in Heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Athens on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 10 am, officiated by Reverend Kyle Henderson. A graveside service will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest in Dallas for family on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
