Martin (Marty) Keegan, 81, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. A native of the San Fernando Valley, CA, he attended University of Houston. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him. He and his wife of nearly 60 years, Marion (Boyd) Keegan, have lived in Dallas for 56 years. Marty was the owner of ASD Security for 32 years.
In Romans 8:18 Paul says, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us."
Marty was preceded in death by his father, Charles and his mother, Jewell. Besides his wife, Marty is survived by daughter, Candace Renee' Keegan.
Marty is also survived by his sister, Laurie Keegan Schwab and her husband, Steve of Scottsdale, AZ. Marty also is survived by his wife's sister and her husband, Dede and Gil Pitts of Waxahachie, TX; nieces, Angela Pitts Perry, Anne'drea Pitts Hatch, Shelby Pitts Langford, all of Waxahachie, TX, Nicole (Niki) Schwab of Scottsdale, AZ; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Marty graduated from Polytechnic High School in Burbank, CA in 1962 He entered the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and became part of the "Brown Water Navy," fighting in the Mekong Delta. It was during his tour of duty in Vietnam that he was exposed to Agent Orange, which led to a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease.
The family is grateful to the many 'angels' who lovingly cared for Marty during his last days.
A Celebration of Life to honor Marty will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 7, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Marty to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
