Sending our prayers and condolences to Martile’s family.   We are going to miss texting and calling and talking to Martile. Have known the family for about 70 years.  Back in the day we went to church together and Ruby and I attended the same schools.  Currently reconnected at her 90th birthday party.  So glad we have had the last years of being in touch again.  It was as if we had never been apart.  Will miss you.

Sister Martile loved people. From the day my wife, Belay, and I met her 6 years ago, she always greeted us with a big smile. I never saw her without a smile on her face. We always looked forward to seeing her at church. My wife, in particular, made sure she got a hug from Sister Martile on Sundays. It just brightened her day to say hello to Sister Martile and see her lovely smile. She was also a prayer warrior. We gave her prayer requests from time to time and we coveted her prayers. We will miss her dearly.

I am very sorry for your loss and ours as a church family. I have been blessed over the years by our dear sister in Jesus. I am a single parent, in the truest sense and have raised my children. Around ten years ago, my son was 15 and he was going through not wanting to be treated like a child along with battling a very rare medical condition. She would always stop myself or Christian and encourage us not to give up. Sometimes she would give Christian $5, $10  and tell him all young men needed a little money of their own. Her caring just holding his hand and praying for him put a smile on his face each time she talked to him and he would go on and on about how precious she is.I know she is full of joy as we don't yet know. Absent from the body, present with the Lord!! I will keep your family and friends in prayer as you grieve your loss. I regret that I will be unable to attend the service. May God bless and keep you and may his face shine upon you.

There are many memories and more than a few photos that I could share, but I think it would be best if I were brief at present.  Obviously, many of the family and friends know that each year around Thanksgiving, my family and I would decorate the exterior of Martile, Ruby, and Ray's home.  This began in 2006 as a fund raiser for Royal Rangers and continued through this past year.  It was always a day.  A day filled with work, and food.....oh the food!  We would always arrive early enough for a hearty breakfast and usually share that with Martile, Ruby and Ray.  Afterwards, we'd get busy and then usually be finished by early afternoon...and then have a wonderful lunch.  Most years it was cold enough for stew, or some other hot meal, and we'd all sit around for an hour or two sharing stories; mostly listening to Martile tell of the past.  We will miss this time with her and Ruby, and the New Years parties as well!!  That's another story.....for another time.   We love you Ray, Robert, Doris, Randy, Becca, and the rest of the family whom we've gotten to know over the years, and we share your loss with great anticipation for the day that we will be united once again....eternally with your beloved Matriarch.            


Blessed woman of God, we are proud that we can call her a good friend! She blessed our family with her sweet friendship for over forty years! Have a wonderful time with Jesus in Heaven Martille!

What a sweet sweet friend!  Loved hearing her stories… my personal favorite was how it was her job to gather the buckets of water about a quarter of a mile from home so they would have water at the house.  And how during the walk she grew closer to the Lord.  Happy homecoming dear lady. 

Thank you for teaching me numerous recipes. And for traveling to so many places as I grew up. Hug Mom for me. Love you!
