DALLAS, TEXAS - Martha Lu. Taylor, 81, Passed unexpectedly on February 2nd, 2024, at Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. Martha was born in San Antonio on January 27th. 1943 during WWII. Martha's father Herbert C. McConnell was a Major in the United States Air Force. Martha’s mother Martha Eugenie Reynolds McConnell was a school reading teacher. She lost her older brother Herbert Jr. to Hodgkin's disease when she was 13. Martha graduated from Whitmer High School and attended classes at two or more colleges in Ohio, Including Ohio University. She later moved to Waco Texas. She met Jimmy Norris Taylor in Waco and was married in 1965. Martha and Jimmy had four sons together. Michael Benjamin, David Brian, Steven Scott, and Jeffrey Alan, who passed in January 2020. Martha was a homemaker and full-time mom until about 1980 when she decided to take classes at College. Later she would finish two associate degrees. Jimmy Taylor passed in 1996 and they were married for 31 years, she never remarried. Martha worked at Baylor Hospital Dallas as a Medical Transcriptionist and continued to take classes at the Dallas Colleges. She studied many things including Horticulture, Photography and Music. Martha always had pets since childhood, and always loved animals. Martha is survived by three of her children, Her brother Benjamin and spouse LuAnn and their son Benjie. Cousins Susan, Lucile, and Shelly. She has six Grandchildren, Brandon Anthony, Abigail Grace, Andrew James, Sophia Jessica, David Brian Jr. and Amy Kathleen. The viewing will be on Thursday, February 8th at Grove Hill Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM. Friday the 9th at 11 AM A service of remembrance will be at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church. The Graveside service will be at Grove Hill Cemetery at 2 PM.
