Martha A Geargopoulos Shorba

Martha (Anda) Shorba, of Dallas, Texas, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. She was born on March 15, 1942 in Gargaliani, Greece. Anda was a strong-spirited, loving, and generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was strong in her Orthodox faith and valued the Greek traditions. Anda is survived by: her husband of 45 years, Eugene (Gene) J. Shorba, daughter, Helen Nygaard, son, Steven Shorba, granddaughters, Martheya Nygaard (18) and Malena Nygaard (14), brother, Christos Georgopoulos of St. Lois Park, MN., and sisters, Antigone Bazakos of Bloomington, MN., and Georgia Georgopoulos of Athens, Greece, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren. Anda was preceded in death by her parents, Fotis and Magdaline Georgopoulos of Gargaliani, Greece. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Road Dallas, Texas 75240.

The Trisagion will take place at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 7:00pm.

The Funeral will take place at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:00am.
