Marsha Anne McCrory Kashata, 74, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully April 3, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She spent her last days surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Marsha was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 26, 1947, to Dr. Tom M. McCrory and Mauryne (Rene) Jarrett McCrory. Upon graduating from Hillcrest High School, Marsha attended Texas Tech University and Southern Methodist University studying speech pathology. After college, Marsha began a lifelong career in the medical field. She served as the office manager for her father, Dr. McCrory, for 17 years and then Dr. Rod Rohrich for over 26 years until her retirement in 2016. She was a well-respected, dedicated employee, helping to create a vibrant company culture and forming long-lasting friendships with her colleagues, as well as the patients. She was adored by all.
While Marsha loved her work, the most important part of her life, without question, was her family. Marsha was absolutely devoted to her son, Kris, his wife, Anne, and their three boys Harrison, Alex and Walker, who knew her as “Honey”. She so enjoyed being the doting mother and grandmother cheering on the boys at their various sports and always so proud of their individual achievements. Marsha treasured each moment shared with them as they were her pride and joy. Whether celebrating a special occasion or not, being together was its own reward.
Marsha had an infinite love for her family and friends. Time spent with her parents, Mimi and Daddy Tom, along with her brother Tom and his family, was always a priority and deeply cherished. The many weekends on the lake or road trips to the mountains with the entire family were highlights. For Marsha’s friends, her HHS Breakfast Club just won’t be the same without her, as she had a gift for making everyone feel so special.
Marsha’s heartfelt interest in and love for the people in her life are matched only by her strong faith in God, which was equally steadfast and true. We will forever miss this remarkable mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and faithful servant.
Marsha is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Rene McCrory. She is survived by her son, Kristopher Jarrett Kashata, his wife Anne and her three grandsons Harrison Kashata, Alex Kashata and Walker Kashata. Also surviving Marsha is her older brother, Tom M. McCrory, III, his wife Susan and nephew, Thomas M. McCrory, IV, his wife Michele, and their two sons Quint and Hunter. Marsha was a loving relative to many cousins and extended family whom she cared for dearly.
A Celebration of Marsha’s life will be held in Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highland Park United Methodist Church or ASPCA.
