The Rosary will be held on Friday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m. His Excellency Bishop Gregory Kelly will officiate. Arrangements are by Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Patrick was born in Houston, TX on September 19, 1953, to Mark Raymond Daly and Martha Louise Deal. He graduated from Bishop Lynch High School, and then from the University of Dallas in 1976. He worked at the University of Dallas for 43 years, most recently as the Associate Vice President for Administrative Services. During his career there, Patrick developed or managed many of the University’s landmark projects, including its campus in Rome, Italy, the pathway for students from the DART station, and the construction of Clark Hall, SB Hall, and Farrell Hall. Patrick created the Cappuccino Bar, now an iconic gathering spot for students, faculty and staff. He was also integral in the design of the campus gateways, one of which has been named in his honor. Patrick was a man of quiet dignity and iron-clad integrity. His charity and community service were endless and quietly rendered. The patient and gentle care he gave his father during his declining years is an example of Patrick’s deep compassion. His keen sense of humor often drew an unexpected laugh and Patrick was the unofficial family Pun Master. A man of eclectic interests, he read extensively and was a faithful member of his book club. He liked fine red wine, old cars, flamenco guitar and classical music, new cars, good art, classic rock, and fast cars. He loved his large extended family and never missed an event. He especially loved spending time with his many nephews and nieces and their children. Pat is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by sisters Ann Daly Karam and Laura Daly, and brothers Michael Daly and Timothy Daly and wife Anne. “Uncle Pat” was beloved by his nieces and nephews: Sara Karam Holtz and husband Joe, Angela Karam, Adam Karam and wife Sarah, Samantha Karam Naffah and husband Joseph, Kate Husted and husband John, Maggie Watson and husband Michael, Stephen Daly, John Daly & wife Nora, Clare Daly, Travis Daly and Jeremy Daly, and by his great-nieces and nephews, Jace & Jarrett Holtz, Kase Karam, Sophia, Anthony and Juliette Naffah, Luke, Charles, Owen & Helen Husted, Amelia Watson and William Daly. He also leaves behind many loyal longtime friends and co-workers. Flowers may be sent to Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to University of Dallas in the name of Patrick Daly. Patrick’s family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to Bishop Kelly, Fr. Don Dvorak, Drs. Robert Israel, Angela Guzzetta, and Narotham Thudi.
