Marjorie I. Sleeper, a long time Dallas resident. Marjorie Ingalls Sleeper passed away June 17, 2017. Marjorie was born in Chicago, IL on February 23, 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Eldridge Sleeper and parents Leslie W. and Violet Simpson Ingalls, as well as her sister Alene Ozanne and her brother, Arthur Ingalls. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sleeper Gleason and her husband ,Bob Gleason, sons Alan L. Sleeper and his wife Cathy Sleeper, Neal D Sleeper and Gary G Sleeper and his wife Kathy Hamilton Sleeper and her granddaughters Gigi Gleason, Christiane Gleason James, Megan Sleeper Booker, Greta Sleeper Jones and grandsons Austin Sleeper and Rick Sleeper. She had five great grandchildren: Nathan and Kendall James, Tiernan, Sawyer and Rafferty Jones and three great-great grandchildren: Rain and Odin James and Silas Starbuck.
Marjorie graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended SMU, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Soon, she met David, the love of her life, to whom she was married 72 years. Marjorie dedicated her life to her husband, her family and her church. She was a member of Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, Dallas where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Second Reader. She was also a Christian Science Practitioner for many years.
In 1964, Marjorie and David moved to Wellesley, MA, so that David could serve the church they both loved so dearly, The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston. They lived there for 20 years before returning to Dallas. She and David loved to travel with friends and family and visited countries all over the world.
She also enjoyed playing golf at Northwood Club, playing bridge, and entertaining friends. Marjorie cherished time with her family, Sunday lunches with her sons, Gary and Neal, visits and special girl times with daughter Linda, and nightly phone conversations with her son Alan.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, in Dallas.
