Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Lyons Sr.; step-son, Robert J. Lyons; and brothers, Douglas and Robert Wood. She is survived by her children, Paul Lyons and wife Vera of Pecos, NM, Joe Lyons Jr. and wife Dawn of Hallsville, TX, Linda Lyons Dehan and husband Dr. Chris Dehan of Austin, TX, Julie Lyons Lawrence and husband Charlie of McKinney, TX, and Sharon Lyons Stiles and husband Joe of Owatonna, MN; 24 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Vivian Donahoe and husband John of Fairfield, CA; godchild, Patrice Donahoe of Pleasanton, CA; and many much loved nieces and nephews.
Marion was a devoted wife and the best mother in the world. She raised 6 children and is responsible for bringing her family to our Savior and instilling them with the Holy Spirit. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas for over 60 years. Marion served the church in many ways including: Co-Leader of the Charismatic Prayer Group for over 20 years, member of the Spiritual Life Center, serving as Eucharistic Minister, member of Hearts of Praise Ensemble, and she was involved in the Charismatic Renewal since 1972. She also worked as an Assistant to the Superintendant of Highland Park School District for many years. Marion brought unspeakable joy to those she knew and she was very compassionate and giving to so many.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM with recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home in Dallas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM, Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd. Dallas 75218. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas.
