Theda Marie, lovingly known as “Teedie”, born in Dallas, Texas, died February 3, 2010, at the age of 90. Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Buster Lyon; mother, Myrtle; father, C.B.; and brother, Claude. Survived by son, Ted Lyon and wife, Bette; grandson, Christopher Gurley; goddaughter, Andria Marie Vogel; and nephew, Jim McDonald. She was a graduate of North Dallas High School, where she met her first and only love, Buster. Teedie and Buster established Buster Lyon Auto Co. in 1947, which continues to this day. She was an active member of Highland Baptist Church since 1932, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Highland Baptist Church. Dr. Aubrey Patterson and Pastor Grant Gassiott officiating. Entombment to follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum. Teedie will be greatly missed by so many who loved her. She would want to leave behind these words: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
