Marian Stock passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Triumph Acute Hospital after battling three long months from injuries and subsequent illnesses from an auto accident on April 1, 2010. Marian’s wish in her final days was to “Be with Jesus in Heaven.”
Marian was born in Galesburg, Illinois to Robert and Esther Andreen. After the untimely death of her father when she was just seven months old and her mother when Marian was seventeen years old, as an only child, Marian was raised by her aunts and uncles in Galesburg and Hamilton, Iowa, The Nelson, Holmes, and Massey Families. Marian’s deep Christian roots began in Galesburg, nurtured by her Swedish family members, and Marian often recalled the beauty of candle lighted Christmas Eve services at her church. While the families had little money, Marian recalled she managed to get one small gift at the local Kreege Store to share on Christmas with her family. To her family and friends Marian was always a loving and giving person.
Marian graduated from Gem City Business College, Quincy, Illinois, and shortly thereafter, Marian met the love of her life, Frederick Glen Stock, with whom she spent the next 52 years of her life happily married. During her marriage to Glen Stock, Marian was the rock of the family, providing love and support to her husband and children and also assuring her family were members of their local church. As Glen pursued his career in the building industry, living in Texas, Georgia, Florida, or California, Marian always found the family a home in the local church.
While in Garden Grove, California and working for Beckman Labs as a data processor, Marian donated to the Crystal Cathedral her first week paycheck to help pay for one of the window panes in the glass church. In her last 20 years in Dallas, Marian attended Prestonwood Baptist Church and lately, Dallas Bible Church on Hillcrest. At Dallas Bible Church, Marian had many close friends, especially Billie Weaver, who spent hours at Marian’s hospital bedside. During her last few years when Marian could not attend church because of illness, she would watch church services on television so as not to miss expressing her devotion to her Lord Jesus Christ.
Marian had a beautiful life, a loving husband, and a family who loves and misses her. Marian leaves behind her family which she deeply loved, her daughter, Sharon Frampton and husband Jim (Dallas), her son, Ronald Stock and his wife Lucille (Laguna Beach, CA), 3 grandchildren, Spencer Frampton (Eagle Pass, Texas), Derek Stock (Laguna Beach, CA) and Joshua Stock (Huntington Beach, CA), and 2 great grandsons, Nitai and Keshore.
