Marian Holton Martin, 80, of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on May 25 after a courageous twelve year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was dearly loved by family and friends and will be truly missed. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Louise Holton of Lamesa, TX and was born April 23, 1932. She graduated from Lamesa High School, attended Texas Tech University and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1954. She adored her two sons and was happiest when they were near. Marian had many friends from all walks of life and loved them dearly. She had an uncanny ability to make life fun and delighted in making others happy. Marian was a child of God trusting her Savior, Jesus Christ, with her life and in her death. She believed strongly in the power of prayer and would like to thank all those who prayed for her during her illness. The family would like to acknowledge Juanita Fiero and Arthur McCullough for their tireless and faithful service, and the care and attention she received from the Caruth Haven Court Assisted Living facility. She is survived by her two sons, James Barry Martin and wife Shelly and Bradford Holton Martin and wife Cathy. Four grandchildren, Stephanie Martin Obst and husband Tanner, Jennifer Martin Willey and husband Kyle, Michael Holton Martin and Bretton Coker Martin. One great grandchild McKinley Grace Obst. One sister, Anne Holton Garnett and husband Don. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 30 in Wynne Chapel at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 3821 University Blvd., Dallas, TX 75205 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Highland Park Presbyterian Church or The Clayton Dabney Foundation for Kids with Cancer at 6500 Greenville Ave., Suite 342, Dallas, TX 75206. A private burial will be held at a later date.
