Maria Figueroa

Maria del Refugio Franco Figueroa, age 97, passed away January 9, 2019. In life, she put all her hope and trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ where she now rests in His eternal peace. She was born January 29, 1921 in Jackson, Mississippi. On October 6, 1946, she married Ruben Dario Figueroa. They moved from Monterrey, Mexico to Dallas, Texas in 1954 where they raised seven sons and one daughter. Their Christian faith was very important to Ruben and Maria and they were very involved in St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and the Christian Community of God’s Delight. Maria was very active as a lay Eucharistic minister both at church and to the home bound.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Ruben Sr. in 2009, and daughter-in-law Ana Figueroa in 2005, married to Ruben Figueroa, Jr. Maria is survived by her sons Ruben Jr., Michael, Rafael, Gabriel, Edward, Joseph, Martin and daughter Guadalupe and their families, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
