Maria Paz Alonzo

Maria Paz Alonzo, age 87, passed away on March 10, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on February 2, 1933 in Terlingua, Texas to Abram Avila and Isabel Olivas Avila. Maria was raised in Alpine, Texas.

She married Robert Alonzo in 1963 and the couple had 5 children. She was a housewife and helped at the family business, La Estrella Bakery, for more than 40 years.

In her spare time, Maria enjoyed staying home raising her five children and spending time with them. She was a devoted housewife and liked working around the house and gardening, but helping her husband at the family bakery was her absolute favorite thing to do.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving and caring mother that was always happy and was the foundation that kept her family together and strong.

She is preceded in death by: husband of 55 years, Robert G. Alonzo; parents, Abram and Isabel Olivas Avila; sisters, Dolores Salas and Lydia Martinez

Survived by: 5 children, Alicia Riojas, Lupita Ramirez, Anita Gallaway with husband Martin Gallaway, Leo Alonzo and Yolanda Farias with husband Francisco Farias; 6 grandchildren, Abel Riojas, Adrian Riojas, Crystal Marie Ramirez, Christopher Elias Ramirez, Tessie Ybarra and Ivan Alonzo; great grandchild, Mia Skye Williams
