A gifted athlete from a young age, Virginia made the varsity basketball team as a freshman—an early sign of her determination, talent, and competitive spirit. That same drive and joy would shine throughout her life. She was a woman of many roles and many strengths: a beloved sister, devoted wife, caring mother, professional, and cherished friend.
Virginia shared a beautiful life with her husband, William J. Tomalonis. Married for 68 years, their bond was rooted in deep love, respect, and shared adventure. Together, they raised three sons: William Tomalonis, Joseph Tomalonis, and Thomas Tomalonis—each a testament to her strength, wisdom, and unwavering love. Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren, Francie Tomalonis and Ginna Tomalonis, who brought her pride and joy. Virginia and William shared not only a love for each other, but also for the game of tennis and a spirit of adventure. Whether rallying on the court or cheering each other on, they were true partners. They also traveled the world together, exploring new places,
meeting new people, and collecting memories that would last a lifetime.
Virginia had a passion for bridge, playing regularly in McKinney and at Atria, where she met numerous dear friends and created lasting memories through laughter, conversation, and friendly competition.
A natural community builder, she also helped organize and launch the Lake Point Supper Club in McKinney, TX. Her warmth and enthusiasm made everyone feel welcome, and her efforts brought people together in meaningful and joyful ways. In her professional life, Virginia was an accomplished real estate agent. The fruits of her success were never just for herself. One of her proudest joys was using those earnings to treat her family to a ski trip—because for Virginia, life was meant to be shared and
celebrated together. She touched countless lives with her generosity, insight, and unwavering spirit. Whether offering encouragement, a kind word, or a listening ear, Virginia made everyone around
her feel seen and valued.
