Megan J. McIntyre (née Wageman), passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52 on January 2, 2019, in Dallas, TX. Megan was born on February 14, 1966, in Chicago, IL, the youngest of five children to Thomas and Lauretta (Letty) Wageman. Megan graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont in 1992. She went on to open a number of restaurants in California and Dallas, TX. After the birth of her children, she worked as a private chef and loved raising her children at the family ranch. Her family will miss her culinary talents, especially her world famous salad dressing and guacamole. Megan loved her family, which included a bevy of cats and dogs. She had a passion for animals and never met a stray she didn’t want to bring home. Megan had a loving and adventurous spirit, she loved spending time with family, riding scooters, going to the beach and listening to her favorite bands, U2 and The Rolling Stones. As we all liked to say, Megan was more Irish than the Irish.
She is preceded in death by her father, Tom Wageman. She is survived by her husband, Britton McIntyre; her son, Liam McIntyre; daughter, Fiona McIntyre; mother Letty Wageman; sisters Kristen Wageman and Elizabeth Weaver (Wageman) and husband Wes; brothers, Paul Wageman and wife Anna, and Pete Wageman. She was also loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12th, from 2 to 6 pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
