Marcella was born in Brownsville, Texas to John Ramirez and Virginia Rocha Ramirez. She met her husband Frank Maceda at a wedding they both attended. She married and started a family in Corpus Christi Texas. In the late 1960’s she and her husband packed up the 6 boys and moved to Dallas Texas. She humbly, deliberately and sometimes forcefully raised her boys as a loving caring mother.
She was a devoted wife and grandmother. She made the best tortillas from scratch. Her annual tamales were enjoyed by hundreds over decades of dedication to the tradition and with a little help from her family.
Her greatest devotion was to her God along with her family and the Catholic Church. Her loving presence was something quickly felt by anyone that spent just a few moments in her presence. She continually shared her love, and forgiveness through God’s grace, acceptance. Her heart was honest and generous. Many of us have been blessed by her constant prayer and unwavering dedication to praying the rosary daily her entire adult life.
She was very active at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, and many more organizations in the church.
