Lydia O. Record

Lydia O. Record, born September 1, 1914 in Burton, Texas went home to the Lord on Saturday evening, August 3, 2013. Mrs. Record was a Dallas resident of over 60 years. She was a long time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Her husband, Howard Spencer Record, preceded her in death in 1991. In her professional life, Lydia worked in the women’s department at Sanger Harris/Dallas. After her retirement, Sanger Harris invited her back to work part time due to customer requests. Lydia, having no children of her own, leaves a legacy rich in nieces, nephews, great nephews and great-great nephews and nieces. Those surviving her are nephews and nieces Alton Haar and his wife Barbara; Emily La Grone; Evelyn Bailey; Gary Stelter; Walter Stelter and his wife Kathy; and Cathie Stelter. Lydia left behind loving relatives and countless friends and acquaintances. She will be missed. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will take place following the service at Calvary Hill Mausoleum.
