Louise was born on the 27th of September 1934 in Ozark, Arkansas to Henry Clayton and Ruth Bailey. She was raised in Oak Cliff and attended school in East Dallas. Louise married the love of her life, George Vaughan on February 11, 1955 after meeting him at the Lucky Gas Station. George whistled his loud whistle, "Cat Calling" her and she knew from that moment on that she would spend the rest of her life with him, they went on to have three children.
She was the owner of Vaughan Trucking Company where she owned and operated the company with her husband, George for many, many years. In her spare time, Louise enjoyed going to any show she could find to watch some of the finest Elvis impersonators, working in her yard (she just couldn't say no to a hanging basket), going to the "beauty shop" to get her hair done, being involved in her church, taking the kids out on the lake, late night games of dominoes and canasta, but most of all she was the happiest spending time with her family.
Louise's family and friends will always remember her as a loving, down to earth, honest, God fearing woman. She would give you the shirt off of her back, even if it meant she went without. She even raised many of her children's friends and grandchildren's friends as if they were her own. She would open the door for anyone who needed a safe and loving home.
Memories of her legacy will live on for generations to come. She is preceded in death by the love of her life for over 50 years, George Vaughan; parents, Henry and Ruth Bailey and brothers, Clayton Bailey and Gene Bailey. Louise is survived by her son, Ronnie Vaughan; daughters, Bonnie Farmer and Teresa Tidwell and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Misty Vaughan, Dustin Tidwell and wife, Echo, Joshua Farmer and wife, Jacquelyn and Chris Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Ember, Tucker, Jaycee, Brian, Preston, Colten and Journie; one great-great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Family will accept guests for a visitation on Sunday, the 15th of August from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday, the 16th of August at 10:00am in the chapel of Laurel Land Funeral Home, burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
The family requests that everyone wear what makes them happiest, whether that be in all black, or a colorful get-up. We are joining together to celebrate the long and prosperous life that Louise lived, not mourning her passing, because we know one day we will all see her again.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.laurellanddallas.com for the Vaughan family.
