Born March 14, 1931, in Panola, Oklahoma. Passed January 17, 2011 after a three year battle with head and neck cancer. Proceeded in death by Sharon Murchison Garner, his beloved wife of 48 years and his much loved son-in-law, Danny Williams. He is survived by his children Jill Williams, Gary Garner and Alan Garner. Also by his cherished grandchildren: Blake, Elizabeth, Ava and Paige.
During his long career in advertising, he made many steadfast friends and enjoyed his work tremendously. Gene made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed music, art, traveling and the theater and contributed to numerous local organizations and charities.
Gene was funny, charming and smart as a whip. He always knew the answer. His love, wit, warmth, counsel and support will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Gene requested a Celebration of Life party to be held instead of a memorial. The party will be held in February with the date to be announced.
