Lorraine Elizabeth West died peacefully at her home in Dallas, Texas on March 23, 2016 after a long illness. Ms. West was born on December 7, 1933 in Fort Worth, Texas. She grew up in Breckenridge, Texas and graduated from Breckenridge High School where she was a Breckenridge Buckaroo Twirler and was involved in many activities and clubs. After graduation she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and was voted Ten Most Beautiful. She graduated with a degree in education and briefly taught school until becoming a mother. Ms. West led a very active life where she was involved in many clubs and charities including Who's Who International, Dallas 200, Dallas Ski Club, Northwood University Women's Board, Dallas Kidney Foundation and was a member of St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church. Ms. West was the youngest daughter of legendary Texas oil man Carey Keene West, Sr., the founder of Chemical Process Company (now known as BJ Service Company) and Fredricka Almeda West. Ms. West was predeceased by her brother Carey West, Jr. and her sister Shirley West. She is survived by her daughter Roxane Elizabeth West and her son Robert Nelson Morris as well as her grandchildren Summer Ball, Amber Wise and Stetson Morris and three great grandchildren. Ms. West was a great lover of life with a vivacious personality and a kind and loving heart. She cherished her family, friends and dogs and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. "To live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die." She will live in our hearts forever. Funeral Service will be 4pm Friday, March 25 at Sparkman Hillcrest with reception to follow.
