Life Reflection

Lorraine Marie Mason was born on May 27, 1951, to the parents of Willie Mason and Alice Marie Mason in Powhatan, Louisiana (Natchitoches Parish). She was Baptized at the age of 12 at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor CC Clark, Powhatan, Louisiana (Natchitoches Parish). She graduated from Allen High School, in Allen, Louisiana then moved to Dallas and attended Bishop College. When she moved to Dallas, she became a member of Greenway Park Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor IL Finley. She was a teachers aid at Pricilla Tyler School for a few years then became a Childcare Director at the YWCA for 14 years (1971-1985). She then became a Marketing Director/Community Liaison for the American Heart Association for 12 years and enjoyed both careers. She also spent many hours volunteering time in her community. She met and married Willie Crockett and to this union she had daughter Mia Crockett. Later in life she met and married Douglas Lee and to this union she became stepmother to 3 children Pamela Lee, Keith Lee and Sonya Lee. She is preceded in Death by Father Willie Mason, Mother Alice Marie Mason, Sister Betty Jackson. Lorraine leaves to mourn; Husband Douglas C. Lee, Children; Carl & Mia Haley Jr., Rodney & Sonya Morrison, Keith Lee, Pamela Lee, Grandkids; Jordan Haley, Ketra Lee, Aundre Lee, and great grandkids, Sisters; Dorothy Cullors, Elouise Wafer, Jeanette Green, Gloria Adams, Annie Faye Mason, Brother Willie Cardel Mason along with a host of nieces, nephews and many other family relatives and friends.

A visitation for Lorraine will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A reception will occur Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
