Mrs. Loretta Elaine (James) Bates

age of 90 with Stacy, Elizabeth, and Marcus by her side. She attended Sunset Highschool and graduates May 30, 1947. She was a loving Mother, devoted wife of Delmer Lee Bates, and an amazing Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was proud of her Native American heritage. She was a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father, Simeon James, and her mother, Susie Mae Jane James, her husband, Delmer Lee Bates and granddaughter, Brandy Christine Rutan and her three sisters and brother.

She lived in Dallas, Tx in the same home for 59 years. She was a devoted Christian and taught Sunday School for many years. She loved Camp Straight Arrow and her Bethel Temple Church Family. She was the #1 Dallas Cowboy Fan for 60 years, no matter their season, as well as an avid Texas Tech fan.

She is survived by three children: Sharon, Stephen, and Susan; seven grandchildren, Stacy, Sara, Marcus, Elizabeth, Paul, David, and Jennifer. Great grandchildren: Noah, Christina, William, Micah, Evik, Alex, Zachary, Elayne, Shelby, Jonah, and Ryan as well as many close friends.
