Lonnie Eugene Shamlin was born September 9, 1947 to the parents of Jack and Birdie Shamlin in Canton, TX. He received his education in Canton, TX public schools. He served in the US Navy received an honorable discharge, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. Upon leaving the military, Lonnie worked 32 years for Hensley Incorporated before retiring.
He was blessed with three children, a son, Tracy Shamlin and two daughters Chasity Shamlin and Dr. Sonia Shamlin.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Jack and Birdie Shamlin and brother Billy Ray Shamlin.
Lonnie is survived by his son, Tracy Shamlin (LaShan), two daughters, Chasity Shamlin and Dr. Sonia Shamlin, grandsons, Almonde Shamlin and Tramarcus Shamlin, granddaughter, Tytianna Shamlin, 3 great granddaughters, 1 great grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
