She graduated from John Reagan High School in Houston, Texas in 1944. She completed her college education with a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1964.
Upon graduation from high school, Lola entered Government Service and excelled in multiple roles serving our country for 44 years. After retirement Lola took on a new role as a highly respected researcher and professor in Genealogy. She was often recruited to be a guest lecturer on the topic that interested her for more than 40 years. She has published 28 volumes of ancestry that reside in libraries throughout the USA and Ireland. She has given many families a greater depth of understanding about their roots.
She married John Matthew Lindsey and had one daughter. She raised her daughter Loretta in Mesquite, Texas. At 66 years old she remarried Hiram Farrar. Lola lived in the Dallas area for over 70 years. She was loved by many and known to give her time, energy and love to many neighbors, students, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; parents Lionel E. and Frances B. Edwards; sisters Virginia Hyatt, Madolyn Crysler, and Cecelia Sweet. She is survived by her only daughter Loretta Lindsey and a granddaughter LaCretia White, husband Derick, all of Dallas, Texas.
