It is with great sadness but also great appreciation for a relatively "shortened" time-frame, my brother Stan and I must announce the passing of our mother at 101+years-old, on Monday August 9th..
She had fallen on Sunday & had broken bones around the knee. She had an amazing and remarkably long life. However, the frail and weakened bones she had were not going to give her the chance to recover to be able to walk again.
We are most grateful that she left us very peacefully. We know we shall she her again & that she has no problems, or pain at this point.
Mother--you were an amazing person--coming to Texas from Oklahoma in 2 COVERED WAGONS in 1927 with the rest of her brothers & sisters. She did her part for the "WAR EFFORT"--to put canopies on airplanes in the '40's. Then, went on to become a teacher, in a one-room school house in New Mexico and then, to working with Stocks and Bonds at Mercantile Bank for 20 years. Enjoy your reunion with all the friends & families that left the rest of us, all too soon.
We love you Mother.
