Lois was born May 14, 1950 in Carthage, Mississippi, to the proud parents of Wilson E. Ben and Henrietta C. Ben. She was a loving and devoted wife, beloved mother, and cherished grandmother. On December 5, 2022, Lois went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Lois grew up with 4 brothers and 3 sisters: She is survived by her brother Robert Billy and sister, Lula Feazelle. She is preceded in death by brothers Steve Billy, Andrew Billy, Collins Billy, and sisters Sarah Walker, and Mary Bell.
On July 11, 1970, Lois married the love of her life, Gilbert M. Hernandez. They were married for 50 years and are now reunited in glory. Lois is survived by her 3 beautiful daughters, Michelle, Adella, Melissa, and son-in-law Christopher. In 1993, Lois earned the title of grandma. She later became known as "Mommo.” She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anthony, Christian, Elijah, Alyssia, Anissa, Annalisa, Jordan, Jasmine, Michael, and Maxwell. As Mommo, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, making memories, and spoiling them with various treats. Lois' greatest joy was spending time with her family.
In her spare time, Lois enjoyed gardening, going fishing, and cheering on her favorite sports teams; the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. Lois was passionate about spending time with the Lord. She was often moved to tears by scriptures and songs of praise. She prayed fervently for her loved ones and encouraged a personal relationship with Christ. She touched many lives with her examples of kindness, generosity and Christ-like love. Lois’ heart and desire was for her family to love the Lord as she did.
