Lois V. Chapman of Denton, Texas, (formerly Mary Lois Vander Linden) went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 12:25 am on Saturday, January 2, 2021, with her two daughters by her side. She did not die from Covid but she did decline following weeks of isolation from her loved ones due to the pandemic. Lois was born to Paul G. Vander Linden, Sr and Beatrice Murrin Vander Linden on December 11,1938. She grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas and Lamesa, Texas, during high school years. After that, she moved back to Dallas, Texas, where she met and married Beryl Chapman in 1961. They settled in Mesquite, Texas, to raise two daughters, Leann Elaine Chapman Zondag and Tyra Lynn Chapman Sprabary. Lois took care of her family, worked as a receptionist, loved JESUS, loved animals (especially cats!) and flowers (green thumb!). She was a gifted writer and a long-time member of the Poetry Society of Texas, where she earned many accolades for her poetry! She spent the last 20 years in Denton, Texas, and was a member of Singing Oaks Church of Christ.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Lillian and Paul Vander Linden, Sr; brother, Paul Vander Linden, Jr; sister, Ouida Beatrice Vander Linden Myers.
She is survived by her two daughters, Leann Zondag and husband Dan of Brownwood, TX; Tyra Sprabary and husband Robert of Corinth, TX; five grandchildren, Jessica Zondag Lynn and husband Shane, Gerrit Zondag, Christopher Zondag, Kyle Sprabary and Kara Sprabary; Her sister-in-law and beloved friend, Betty Vander Linden; her sweetest companion, Tomboy (cat) and MANY more family and friends.
