Lisa Ann Lindsey was born in Ft. Hood, Texas, where her father was serving as an Army physician. Dr. Lindsey and his wife Ann (a nurse) welcomed Lisa as their first child. The growing family stayed in Temple, Texas, after the military obligations, and lived outside of town on what everyone called "the farm". In those formative years, Lisa developed her love of the outdoors, of exploring in the woods, and enjoying animals of all sorts.
The family moved to Waco, Texas, where they lived to see all four children grow up and leave home for college. Lisa's two brothers became physicians themselves. Bill, next in line, practices Neurology in Houston and Bob is a Physiatrist in Lufkin. The youngest Lindsey is Lisa's sister, Arden, who is married to a physician, Dr. Richard Seggerman.
Mark and Lisa met in college. Actually, they met in Sunday School while in college. Lisa had matriculated at Vanderbilt and was home for the summer. Mark had attended their church for two years during school, and they met in the summer when Lisa was home and Mark took Summer School.
Married in 1981, Mark and Lisa have a family of three daughters, Lindsey, Laura and Elizabeth. Sons-in law Hudson and Micah, along with ten grandchildren eight years of age and younger bring the clan to a wonderful, chaotic, joyful fullness.
Lisa's passion is children's literature. She was the librarian at West Dallas Community School for years and helped shape many young lives by imbuing them with a love of reading. Her greatest joy was the time spent reading to her grandchildren and answering, with wise counsel, the many young moms asking for, "some good books for my kids".
Lisa Lindsey Fulmer loved the Lord Jesus. She was a woman of prayer, quiet strength and immense courage. She never sought the limelight, and would be frankly embarrassed to know how she became the center of attention, even at her memorial service. This very hour she rejoices with the heavenly throng to be in the presence of her Savior. She is loved and will be missed terribly, and her untimely departure adds new urgency to our cries of, "Come quickly Lord Jesus!".
