Lindsay was the daughter of David and Linda DeHoff of Forney, Texas. She was born and grew up in Arlington, Texas. She attended Ditto Elementary, Young Junior High and Martin High School. She graduated from Abilene Christian University, where she was an outstanding volleyball player for four years. She was a member of Delta Theta social club and was involved in many activities. She loved ACU.
Lindsay lived her life in honor of her Christian faith. While growing up in Arlington, Lindsay was a member of Rush Creek Christian Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was eleven years old. While living in Dallas, Lindsay, her husband and their son enjoyed attending Watermark Community Church.
Lindsay was a tremendous athlete. Lindsay was on the Martin varsity volleyball team her junior and senior year. As a junior, she was a member of Martin’s 1996 state championship team. During her senior year, she had the most blocks in District 8-5A.
Lindsay received a scholarship to play volleyball at Abilene Christian University. During her time at ACU, she was a three-time, first team All-Lone Star Conference performer (1999, 2000, 2001), Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year (1998), three-time Academic All-Lone Star Conference selection (1999, 2000, 2001) and was ACU’s team MVP as a freshman. She is fourth all-time in ACU history in blocks, and her number of blocks as a freshman is the fifth-best single-season total in program history. Lindsay will be inducted posthumously into the ACU Sports Hall of Fame this fall during ACU’s homecoming weekend.
Lindsay married William (“Will”) Louis Brewer II in 2009 and were very happily married for ten years. They have a seven-year old son, William (“Tripp”) Louis Brewer III, who is a bright shining light for the family. Lindsay was an incredible wife to Will and mother to Tripp. Lindsay received great joy from watching Tripp’s soccer and basketball games, volunteering at Tripp’s elementary school and reading to his class. Even though Lindsay was happiest hanging out with “her boys” at home, she loved going on vacation with Will and Tripp by spending time on the beach at South Padre Island, snow-skiing in the mountains of Colorado and visiting her sister in Southern California.
Lindsay worked for Ernst & Young for sixteen years. After four years in client service, Lindsay moved into Business Development, where she focused on Strategic Growth Markets and later served as the Market Segment Manager. For the past three years, Lindsay served as the Southwest Business Development Operations Leader, leading more than twenty colleagues across the Southwest. She was actively involved in the community and worked closely with the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
In every interaction, Lindsay was known for her warmth and caring, incredible aptitude and signature positivity. Lindsay is survived by her husband, Will Brewer, and son, Tripp Brewer, her parents, David and Linda DeHoff and her sister, Leslie DeHoff.
