Leta “Fritzi” Lewis (93) passed away Friday, June 6, 2014. Fritzi, an amazingly accomplished gardener, a rescuer of animals, a reader and lifelong learner, was born November 15, 1920 to A. J. and Leta Hudson Biggio in Dallas, Texas. As an alumna of Sunset High School, Leta graduated from Sacks Secretarial School. She joined Underwood & Ezell, who introduced drive-in theaters to Texas, and worked on Film Row in Dallas. She was active in the USO and in 1947 she married her special sailor, G. D. “Ted” Lewis. As longtime Dallasites, the Lewis family were members of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. Besides raising three children, Fritzi worked as an Executive Secretary for Mr. Gayle Peery and his steel companies until she retired. In 1985 Fritzi & Ted Lewis moved to Cedar Creek Lake, where they were active in feeding the local wildlife and volunteering. In 2004 they moved to Ft. Worth.
She will be most remembered for her generosity of heart and for her brilliant ability to make friends wherever she went.
