Lester Coy Taylor

Lester Coy Taylor, 89, passed away in his home on April 8, 2025, in Forney Texas after a long battle with cancer. He was born on September 26, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to Lennie Belle and Charlie Coy Taylor. Lester was raised in Dallas, Texas. He married Barbara Juanell Campbell on April 16, 1956, in Durant, Oklahoma with Alice and Barron Reynolds as witnesses. They raised 3 children in Dallas. Lester served the City of Dallas as a police officer for 30 years of his life, retired and worked for Addison Police Department another 10 years before retiring permanently. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing, playing church ball (in his earlier years) and traveling the world with Barbara. He will be remembered for his take charge personality, hard work, beautiful yard, and being there for his family.

He is preceded in death by his precious wife Barbara Taylor, parents Lennie Belle and Coy Taylor and his sister in law Barbara Taylor. He is survived by his brothers Roy Taylor and wife Barbara and Clifford Taylor and his wife Barbara. His 3 children Son Billy Coy and wife Vicki, Son Jimmy Don and wife Dominique and Daughter Jana Jo and husband Steve Thomas.

A funeral service for Lester will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Central Baptist Church, 1749 FM148, Crandall, TX 75114. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
