and Carrie Mae Lang. Lester was the sixth child out of the eight children in her family. As a
child, Lester attended the State School of Austin, Texas where she learned and developed her
life skills. Growing up in Marlin, Texas, she was a member of the family church, Bernard Street
Church of Christ.
In 1975, Lester along with her mother and other siblings moved to Dallas, Texas. Lester loved
to clean and help others in any way she could help. Although Lester never had any children,
she helped care for all her nieces and nephews and their children. She loved her family and
close family friends. Lester enjoyed singing and dancing. She was always the life of the party. Lester had a passion for shopping and had her choice of her favorite stores to shop frequently. Lester lived a peaceful and joyful life.
Lester loved church and her church family. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove
Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling every year to the National Churches of Christ
Lectureship with her sister, Helen.
Lester "Special angel" was called home February 03,2021 and is safe and secure with her Lord and Savior.
Lester was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Mae Lang and father, Henry Lang. Lester
is survived by her sisters, Ellen L. Wallace, Mary L. Armstead, Rosie Taylor (Robert), Helen
Lang, Sheila Willis (Alvin), and her two brothers Joe and Willie Lang. Lester also had 10 nieces
and nephews, a host of great nieces, nephews, 3 uncles, 1 great-great nephew, cousins and
many friends who loved her dearly.
